Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Name (optional)
• Date of birth (optional)
• Gender (optional)
• Profile photo (optional)

Dream Content

When you use Mengly, we collect:

• Dream descriptions and journal entries you create
• Dream metadata (date, mood, tags)
• AI-generated interpretations and visualizations
• Voice recordings (temporarily, for transcription only)

Usage Data

We automatically collect:

• App usage statistics (features used, session duration)
• Device information (device type, OS version)
• Crash reports and performance data

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve our dream interpretation services
• Generate AI-powered dream visualizations
• Enable semantic search across your dreams
• Send important service notifications
• Analyze and improve app performance
• Provide customer support

Third-Party AI Data Sharing

Mengly sends your personal data to third-party AI services to provide core features. Before using these features, the app asks for your explicit consent.

OpenAI (Dream Interpretation & Oracle Chat)

Data sent: Your dream text, messages in the Dream Oracle chat, and relevant dream context.

Purpose: To generate dream interpretations, mood analysis, symbolic meanings, visualization prompts, and conversational responses.

OpenAI processes this data under their API data usage policy and does not use it to train their models.

Google Gemini & Veo (Dream Visualization)

Data sent: AI-generated descriptions derived from your dream content, plus storyboard images as reference.

Purpose: To create dream visualization images (Gemini) and dream videos (Veo).

Google processes this data under their API terms and does not use it to train their models.

You can withdraw your consent to AI data sharing at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security. Withdrawing consent will prevent you from using AI-powered features but will not delete previously processed data. Your dream content is never shared with other users or sold to third parties.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption:

• Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3)
• Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256)
• We use Supabase for secure database hosting
• Images are stored securely on AWS S3

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers who help us operate our services (cloud hosting, payment processing)
• AI service providers for dream interpretation and visualization
• Law enforcement when required by law

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of analytics collection
• Withdraw consent at any time

Children's Privacy

Mengly is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
